Science in Sport has been my go to for mid-run fuel for years. I routinely use their gels for any longer runs that I do. So when Bibrave gave me the opportunity to try out their Science in Sport Rego Rapid Recovery Powder, I jumped at the chance to give it a try. This Rapid Recovery powder has really been saving my life lately. With how my schedule has been at work, I won’t be eating lunch often don’t until a 2 pm zoom meeting or once I get a quick break.
And since I’ve been relying on quick, not always the healthiest meals, at least I’m getting some nutrients from my recovery shake. Furthermore, this isn’t your usual recovery protein shake. It’s been formulated to be rapidly absorbed by your digestive system.
How To Use Rego Rapid Recovery:
Because of this special formula making your shake easily digestable, Science in Sport does have some suggestions on how to properly fuel their their REGO Rapid Recovery:
- Don’t mix with milk. Although milk is high in protein, milk is made up of 80% casein (a type of protein), which is slow digesting. Instead: Mix with water to increase absorption rates.
- For best absorption: don’t drink with food. For the same reason as milk! Since Rego is specially formulated for rapid absorption, throwing other things into your stomach is going to change that.
I specifically use my SIS rego after either my hard speed workouts, or my long runs when I can’t eat soon afterword. Rego Rapid Recovery helps resupply my body with nutrients when I don’t have a change to sit down and eat, which is more often than I would like to admit.
Overall, I highly recommend Science in Sport’s Rego Rapid Recovery powder. It tastes great, has the nutrients I need, and helps me refuel. Specifically when I don’t have the time to have a real meal after a hard run.
